The story 'Palampur Ka Sidha Sadha Launda' is about Vikram Batra (Siddharth Malhotra), the son of a teacher, who grows up with a dream of serving his country someday. He is so fond of army uniform that he wears it on every occasion in his school. He grows up to prepare for his dream just before he takes the exam, and falls in love with a very simple Dimple (Kiara Advani).
On the verge of giving up on his 'senna' dream of choosing the merchant navy for more money (to impress the girl's father), Vikram is given the right advice by his friend Sunny (Sahil Vaid). He leaves to become a lieutenant and earns respect among his team members by capturing the dreaded terrorists all around. With his current regiment, he goes into the Kargil War while facing Pakistani terrorists ambushed along the LoC. Reclaiming two key points, Vikram Batra leads his team, which is known today as 'Vijay Divas' (16 December), giving the entire nation a reason to celebrate.

Shershaah Movie Review: Script Analysis
One of the beautiful things about such topics is that you
tend to be informative, but sometimes that information is known to really
inform through a film. We have seen that the colors of Kargil war have been
depicted in Bollywood movies many times before, and this is one of the best.
Coming from the Kabir Singh school of filmmaking, writer Sandeep Srivastava
(New York, additional dialogue for The Kabul Express) keeps things fairly
confined. The cliched-but-cute romance doesn't get much between controlled
border-drama and unfiltered action.
Given the theme, it's all too easy to find yourself in
patriotic dialogues while making your characters scream out loud, adding too
much melodrama (read: Bollywood'ising) to actual events. But, Srivastava's
screenplay goes smoothly, touches on all the usual army-films of Bollywood and
doesn't hold them for long. The love story part started on a very solid note
but tied me in the end. The climax takes the film up a notch, helping it end on
a high note.
When you write a film around such a famous name, you have to
face the consequences of 'people know it all'. Kamal jit Negi's impressive
camerawork helps showcase the tensions inherent in Srivastava's script. There
are many such 'suspense revealing' shots in which Negi creates magic in how he
pans the camera. One sequence in which you can feel the great camerawork is the
fight sequence between Sidharth Malhotra and Mir Sarwar's character Haider;
Just watch that scene again for Kamal jit Negi. Veteran editor A. Sreekar Prasad
has restricted the film to its best runtime, i.e. 135 minutes.
Shershaah Movie Review: Star Performance
The natural question is, is it Sidharth Malhotra's best? I'm
actually still stuck between this and a villain because there was more depth to
it. Vikram Batra really gives a tough fight with Sidharth, not just the tone of
the character, but his quirky personality as well. Watch the end-credits, which
has an interview with OG Vikram Batra (PVC) and you will feel how well Sidharth
portrays him in the same scene of the film. Sid's charm allows him to bring out
the heroic magnetism of Vikram Batra. He would have been proud of Sidharth
Malhotra today, just as we all are!
Kiara Advani fits in beautifully as the love interest of the
protagonist. The eternal cuteness in her gives a charming touch to the
character. Despite the limited screen-presence, the makers have made us never
forget the importance of Dimple in Vikram's life. Shiv Pandit as Jimmy has some
good scenes, but other than that there is a wasted opportunity. Jimmy's
character needed even better effect for more depth and a better relationship
with Vikram Batra.
I was very happy for Sahil Vaid when the film started
thinking that he would finally get his due, but no. He has a very limited role
in which he is brilliant but "Yeh Dil Maange More!" Among the rest of
the team, Nikitin Dheer, Anil Charanjit, Shataf Figar and Raj Arjun stand out
from the rest.
Shershaah Movie Review: Direction, Music
Vishnu Vardhan's debut in Bollywood has all the ingredients
to be one of the most stylishly presented war dramas. Vishnu does not take an
easy and linear path to explain events, and he starts from the end. Vishnu
keeps things straight to the point, without touching any landmines of pop
nationalism or linguism. The lack of good dialogues kind of hinders his smooth
direction.
Jon Stewart Eduri's background score is powerful and rhythmic
but falls victim to the lack of a good theme. Fans of B Praak will have spent
their lifetimes in wonder towards the climax. Brow-tip: Keep your tissues
handy.
Shershaah Movie Review: The Last Word
All said and done, people are going to ask Sidharth Malhotra
after watching this, "Yeh dil maange more!" But it reminds me of
another Pepsi slogan, "When will my number come out?" Because it is a
Siddharth show. Another week, yet another film I could have set the box office
on fire.

रूप से प्रस्तुत युद्ध नाटकों में से एक होने की सभी सामग्रियां हैं। घटनाओं की व्याख्या
करने के लिए विष्णु एक आसान और रैखिक मार्ग नहीं लेते हैं, और वे अंत से शुरू करते हैं।
पॉप राष्ट्रवाद या भाषावाद की किसी भी बारूदी सुरंग को छुए बिना, विष्णु चीजों को सीधे मुद्दे
