Cut the nail is not only painful, but it is also a very difficult
habit to break. Most people who cut their fingernails don't even notice it
until their toenails are raw and their cuticles look and feel dirty. But like
other habits, there are ways to learn to restrain yourself and keep your nails
safe.
Keep your nails short
Long nails are unpredictable if your nerve nails are bitter,
and unless you give up this particular habit you are better off keeping them
short and clean. But short doesn't mean "super short." Give your
nails some love and use a nail file to avoid nails and keep them looking clean.
Use anti-cutting products
There are times when you don't even feel like you're cutting
your nails. You may be distracted or stressed, and before you know it you have
cut your nails with your finger. There are products that are specifically
designed to prevent you from cutting your nails. And we're not talking gloves
here!
They look and feel like transparent nail polish, and are
usually applied to your nails every couple of days. Many people have
ingredients that make nails better and thicker to help them look better. But
that's not why they work.
They do disgusting things. Bitter and absolutely disgusting.
There is no way to ignore you, and it makes cutting your nails less mentally
satisfying.
Give yourself a manicure at home:
If every time you look at your nails you see a salon-worthy
manicure, you will think twice before lubricating them and wasting all your
hard work. Don't even have to be colourful or pay attention! A nude manicure or
French gesture looks just like your nails but better, and both styles are 100%
compatible with the most conservative work environment.
If you are not sure about regular nail polish, consider
getting a set of gel or acrylic nails at the salon instead. Acrylic and gel
nails are very strong and hard to cut. The only problem you may find is that
instead of cutting your nails, you can pick them up on your acrylics and peel
them with your nails. This is not a good thing, and can really damage your
nails.
If you are cutting your nails due to stress or anxiety, the
best way to stop nail biting is to eliminate these stressors. However, it's
much easier than that! In the meantime, the strategies in this article should
help you overcome the habit and reduce or eliminate nail-biting altogether.
