Did you know that your self-esteem can be a factor in some of your problems?
Take weight loss for example.
We all know
that the weight loss industry has a billion dollars in annual turnover and who
do advertisers target?
Women!
To encourage
women to join the weight loss plan, they should highlight their insecurities in
their advertising copy.
You may ask,
"What are these insecurities?"
You may have
heard of the term "fat shy".
Even though
women weigh only a few kilos more than last year, they are ashamed to be found
guilty.
Is it any
wonder that many of them are insecure?
My advice to
women is:
1 Stop
comparing yourself to others, trying to be someone is stupid. Instead of trying
to be someone other than yourself, you have to ask the question, "What
makes me tick?" And set your goals accordingly.
2 Do it for
yourself, not for others. If you are on a new diet, do it for yourself and not
for others? Do not please the people and do not try to influence others for the
sake of it.
3 Your price
is not measured by the size of your dress. What makes you unique is what makes
you unique. It is the work that you are gifted with skillfully that gives you
value. It is important to use your abilities for the benefit of others. This is
the real price!
4 Dig the
"if only" mentality. In this case, many women and men think, "I
would be happy if I lost an X amount of weight, got a new car, a better house,
a new husband/wife, or whatever."
Life does
not work that way. Happiness comes from within and has nothing to do with appearance
or the opinion of others. Many people are still dissatisfied with what they
think will make them happy. The novelty soon fades and then their eyes fall on
something else.
5 Work on
your self-esteem. It is important to work on your self-esteem otherwise people
are pushing you around. The key is to be consistent and not allow inappropriate
comments to be affected. Claiming is not just about sticking to yourself. It
acknowledges what television advertising is all about. So you buy their
products.
I'm not
saying you shouldn't go on any of these diets but for the right reasons. Most
importantly, low self-esteem will weaken your diet plan.
